The My Gateway portal only allows Bahamian citizens 18 years and older to obtain an account, and account holder can only apply for services for himself/herself.

To complete the application for a character certificate the user must select the purpose option first, please ensure that when you upload the picture of "The information page of your passport" the file is in JPEG format, and under 2 mb in size.

You can still apply for your Character Certificate at the agency, but you will not be able to pay in cash. 

The payment options are Credit or Debit Cards at the agency, or you can use cash at a third-party Service (SUNCASH, CASH N'GO, Omni Financial Group Ltd).

Depending on the urgency of the situation the Royal Bahamas Police Force Bahamian Citizens can expedite Police Character Certificates. You must go in person to the Central Detective Unit and have with you ;

1) Copy of your travel documents 

2) Current passport 

3) Debit card, Credit card or paid receipt (SUNCASH, CASH N'GO, Omni Financial Group Ltd)
